1st Week of Practice / Thursday Night Run #1

Golden Eagles--

It was great to see so many of you this morning. What a fun windy run it was. We know that some of you were not able to join us this morning. You are more than welcome to come and join us. We meet every morning at 7:00am at MMHS on the track. It really doesn't matter if you are in shape or not. That is what practice is for. We run together to help each other, so don't worry about it and come give it a try. We need you to help our TEAM. For those of you who ran with us today. Thank you and we will see you tomorrow at 7:00am with a friend.

Also this Thursday night we will be running the Provo River Trail. We will be meeting at MMHS at 5:45 to arrange car pools etc. This is a fun run and a great time for you to get to know your teammates and enjoy a great trail run. We hope to see you all there.

Thought of the day: "The will to win doesn't matter if you don't have the will to prepare."

Pre-Season BBQ

Golden Eagles --

We want to hold a pre-season kick off BBQ. This will be on Thursday June 25th @ 6:00pm. We will be meeting at the trail head of Hobble Creek Canyon. Where we will go for a brief run up the canyon and come back to Maple Mountain High School where the "grill masters" of Coach Boyack, Coach Reg, and Coach Thompson will BBQ up some food for all. Salem Hills and Spanish Fork will be joining us along with anyone else who wants to come on this run. This will be a great chance to get to know some of your future teammates, coaches, and other runners. We hope to see all of you and a friend there. Please pass along the word about this BBQ to others. Hope your running is going well. You all should be out running and logging those miles. Keep on running and we will see you on Thursday June 25th.

Summer Workouts

Golden Eagles --
Well it was great for us as coaches to see so many of you to our TEAM meeting. As we said in the meeting our TEAM needs to have more members. We don't care if you have never run cross country before or if you are one of the top runners in the state. We need all of you, and a friend or two. We as coaches know that we will be as strong as we make ourselves. We will work hard and also have a lot of fun. So come out and give cross country a try for a while. We know that it will be something you will like, if not love.

Now as far as summer workouts goes. We will be starting team workouts on Monday June 29th @ 7:00am. We will be meeting on the track at Maple Mountain High School. However we would encourage all of you to be out running. Putting on those miles now will help for the workouts and races of the season. There are so many 5k runs throughout the summer that it will not hurt you to run in them. For example the Springville 5k run this Saturday would be a great thing to do. Also for your information the weight room will be open for your use starting next week on Mon, Wed, & Fri. from 10:00am - noon for those who wish to use it. We will also be posting the calender that was given out at the TEAM meeting soon for those who didn't get it. Also we will be posting our summer mileage chart soon so you can keep track of your miles and set and keep track of your goals. We are starting our 700 mile club for our summer running goals. The 700 mile club starts from June 1st and runs until Labor Day September 7th. We do have something special for the members who make this club. So keep track of your miles and good luck Eagles. If you have any questions about any of this or anything else just ask. We look forward to seeing all of you on the 29th if not before. Happy Running,
