Parents Meeting / Sports Physicals

Golden Eagles --

We want to have a parents meeting this Thursday night before we go on our run. The meeting will be at 6:00pm at MMHS. The meeting should only take twenty min. Then we can go on our night run. We will be discussing fees and giving out all of the paperwork for the season. Please make sure your folks can make it. If they can't then you will need to pass on all the information to them. We will do our best to post it on the blog as well. We hope to see all of you this Thursday night.

Sports physicals are needed in order to compete in any high school sport. They are good for three years. If you have not had one in the past three years the school is offering on Monday Aug. 3rd starting at 7:00am there will be a doctor to conduct physicals for those who need them. The cost is $20.00 if you have any questions contact Coach Wyatt.

Whichever race you run in Good Luck and we will see you at the races.

Run and a Movie

Golden Eagles --

What a week of practice. We are so pleased at how many of you are improving and progressing toward your goals. We love to see all the new faces that come. We also love to see all the old faces that are there every day. If you are still thinking about joining our TEAM it is never to late. We meet every day at 7:00am at the track at MMHS.

Well great job yesterday on those hills. What a run and what the wind. That was something that you will only get running at Maple Mountain. That was a practice that has future stories written all over it. Great job. We would also like to thank all of you who helped eat the breakfast after. We never have any left overs.

Thursday Night was a blast and we can't wait for our next one. A big THANK YOU to Ashley for getting the projector. Thank you to the captains for the idea, thank you to the Heckels for the work on the screen, and thank you for all the flying M&M's and Gummy Bears! That was a fun tradition to start. The high jump pits needed to be used anyway. The movie was a great thing to see after the 4.5 turned into 5.25 mile run in the 100 degree heat. This was our biggest crowd for a Thursday Night run so far. So thank you to all who were involved.

We will not have a night run this Thursday night the 23rd, because you all are racing in either the Mapleton City 5k or the Speedy Spaniard 10k on Friday morning the 24th. Good Luck to all of you. Enjoy the photos and again thanks for the new tradition.

This Thursday Nights Run

Golden Eagles --

Great job today in your sound off. That sounded great when you were all doing it together. We hope that you feel a part of this amazing TEAM. We are laying the foundation for an amazing season, TEAM, and program. So we can never say it enough, Thank You! Thank You for all your hard work and your commitment to our TEAM and to yourself. We also want to give a big Thank You to all of your parents for their support.

Well TEAM this weeks Thursday Night run will be the Hobble Creek Trail. We know that the rough draft calender we gave back in May is all messed up, but that is OK we can still get the word out on the blog and at practice. Well this week for those of you who want to we are caravan and carpooling at MMHS at 5:30 or meet at the reservoir on the Hobble Creek Trail at 5:40. We are going to run that trail and then come back to the school for a TEAM activity. If you have questions about this activity then ask your captains and they will fill you in. Hope to see you all there. Also don't forget to do your homework!!!

Y-Mtn. Run

Golden Eagles --

We wanted to thank all of you for another great week of Maple Mountain Cross Country. Last night we did our first ever team Y-Mtn. run. Congratulations to the few who ran the whole trail. Congratulations to those who made the hike as well. What a view from up top. It was worth the hike. It was also worth it to go to the creamery that Ice Cream tasted so good after that hike. It even tasted good with the flying gummy bears! It was great to have so many of you all there. We know that there are a lot of you who could not join us on this run/hike because of your other engagements. We are going to be doing another one of these Y-Mtn. run/hike again later in the season. The run/hike was worth it so thank you to all of you who came. KAIZEN!!!
Also thanks to those who won the battle with their bed this morning to join us on the run. The breakfast was good after the run.

Good Luck to those of you on are team that are running in the 5k this weekend, and those who are in the USATF meet this weekend.

We wanted to remind all of you to keep logging those miles and remember to run on Saturday. We will see all of you on Monday morning at 7:00am. Remember to bring your friends. It is not too late to join our TEAM. We need all of you. Thanks,

2nd Week of Practice

Golden Eagles --

We wanted to thank everyone who came on our 4.5 mile turned into 7 mile Thursday night run on the Provo River Trail. This was a fun run, despite the distance, and the flying Gummy Bears! The chance to see so many of you running on this trail was something to behold. Also how can you put a price on seeing Coach "Reg" on that bike. That alone was worth the 7 mile run. Although some of you think that Bajio was worth the run. Whatever it was that motivated you we were glad that so many of you did it. Kaizen!!! It was also so great to see so many of you Friday for our workout and breakfast. Thanks for the food.

This Thursday night run was going to be Stewart Falls. However we are going to move that one to the 16th. Therefore this Thursday we are going to do a different run. We as coaches have not decided where yet, but we will tell everyone tomorrow at practice and post it here tomorrow. We will either be running up to Whiting Campground or hiking the Y. Either way we will meet at MMHS @ 5:45pm to caravan to where we are going.

We as coaches wanted to thank all of you for all your hard work in building a good base this past week. We want to welcome anyone who is still thinking of running cross country to come on out and give it a try. It is never to late to try. Come out and join our TEAM. You will know some of the people on the TEAM and will also make new friends on the TEAM. We meet every morning at 7:00 am at the track at MMHS.

We also wanted to give a big congratulations to all of the Golden Eagles who ran in the Freedom run over the weekend there were some amazing times by the Golden Eagles. Great Job.

Thursday Night Run

Golden Eagles --

Just a quick reminder that we will be meeting at Maple Mtn. @ 5:45. We will carpool there and we have the two school vans to help transport people. Bring your own money if you want to eat at any of the restaurants at the end of the run at the River woods Shopping Center. We would love to see all of you there. We also invite anyone who wants to come on the run. (Parents, Siblings, Friends, etc.) If you are coming on the night run, then enjoy sleeping in tomorrow, because you don't have to do the 7:00am run.

For those of you who can't come tomorrow night there is a small group of runners who are meeting tomorrow at 7:00am at the track. Keep up all the hard work that you are doing. Thanks,
