Park City Invite Info/ Region Meet Change

Golden Eagles --

***Schedule correction*** The region championship meet will be on Monday October 12th 4:00pm @ Salem Hills High School. Please note the change of date and plan accordingly.***

Just wanted to give out quick info about this Saturday. The Buses will leave MMHS at 7:30am. Make sure you are there ready to go. This is a cross country course with 15% of grass and 85% dirt, with moderate rolling hills on most of the course. It is a great course to run and prepare us for region and state.

The location of this race according to Park City's Coaches "is the Quinn's Junction athletic fields and the National Ability Center. If coming from Heber on Hwy. 40, just take the 248 exit and turn left, then immediate right again at the first light and the start line is right in front of you."

The Girls race will start at 10:00am
The Boys race will start at 10:30am

Remember to bring some cash for our stop at Granny's in Heber on the way home.

Thanks,
--The Coaches

Wasatch Invite Results/ Meet Date Change

Golden Eagles --

The Wasatch Invite at Soilder Hollow allowed us to see that Maple Mountain loves to run in the mountains! This race was on "the hardest course in the state." It was so impressive to us as coaches to see how all of you took on the challenge of this course with determination. Coach Barkers workouts are paying off, all thoes times of Tripple Crown really showed yesterday. We are so proud of how many of you bounced back to have a great meet on this challanging course. Way to slay the beast! It was great to see so many of you with hardware around your necks. We had 10 eagles run away with medals. All in all it was a great day to be an eagle!

We want to offer a big congratulations to the girls JV team for their first place finnish at this race!!! Way to go ladies you made history with that win! Brette, Carley, Kristie, Shantel, Bria, Brynn, and Lauren all finished in the top 20!

Varstity girls finished third at this meet! Placing behind two 5A schools! Way to run as a group ladies. It is so great to see that there are so many of you who are running so well and helping to pull each other along. We want to thank Kelsie, Ashley, Hayley, Chaliece, Lindsay, Kelsie, and Rachel you all did an amazing job and all placed in the top 35!

The JV Boys also ran well yesterday placeing 5th with Christian and Nathan placing in the top 12. Great job boys way to attack the tripple crown like hill.

Varsity boys also placed 5th behind four 5A schools. Boys it was great to see how you all finished this race. That last mile really showed a lot of determination from all of you. We were so pleased with how you finished. Thanks to Spencer, Zach, Holden, Jonah, Nathan, Lance, and Eddie you all ran well. Congrautlations to Spencer for his third place overall finish on this race.

We do have a schedule change to let you all be aware of because of the Homecoming dance on Saturday we will be running at the Bulldog Invite in Provo on Friday instead. This works out better for us and we will be back so you can still see the Football game. We will talk more about this at practice.

Another note we want to thank the Knapps and everyone else who helped with our team night dinner and "Suprise" party for Coach Wyatt. Thank you so much. You all did such a great job with the dinner and party that you even brought a, belive it or not, a smile to Coach Wyatt. The cake, the hat (Oh the hat!), the attack on the car, and the chalk just topped it off. Thank you.

BYU Autumn XC Classic Info.

Golden Eagles --

We just wanted to give you a heads up about the meet this weekend at BYU. First the buses will leave MMHS at 7:30am so be there before that (7:15) we will leave you behind if you are not there. Second the meet is at the BYU track complex not East Bay Golf Course. Third because the meet is at BYU and it includes a collegiate race they do charge the parents admission to this meet is $3 for adults, $2 for students with ID, and children 5 and under are free. All of our runners are free and any youth athlete age 14 and under that wears their track or cross country uniform is admitted free. We are sorry for any inconvenience on this.
The tentative order of races is as follows;
9:00 am Frosh/Soph Boys 5K
9:30 am Frosh/Soph Girls 5K
9:55 am JV Boys 5K
10:15 am JV Girls 5K
10:45 am Univ. Women's 5K (BYU, UCLA, Idaho State, San Bernardino)
11:10 am Varsity Girl's 5K
11:35 am Univ. Men's 4 Mile (same as Womens's)
12:05 pm Varsity Boy's 5K
12:40 pm Awards
However if the races are to big they will divide them up by classification (1A-3A) (4A-5A) for example, this means it will take longer. We hope this helps in your planning. We can't thank you enough for all that you do for our TEAM. This will be a great meet to see where we are compared to the rest of the state. Thanks again for all that you do and GO EAGLES!!!
