Golden Eagles--

Congratulations to all of you the 2009 cross country Region VIII Boys and Girls Champions!!! WOW what an amazing day for racing. There was great competition from Springville and Salem Hills along with Uintah, Spanish Fork and Payson. The races today really helped to show that Region VIII is a very tough cross country region. Good luck at state to all the Region VIII teams.

To start things off on this day the girls JV set the pace for us with Kyrie Carpenter winning the JV race. The Lady Golden Eagles came into this race with a lot to run for. With Ashley Phelps out of this race because of the accident. All the Golden Eagles ran for Ashley today with Phelps on their calfs. The ladies ran with all heart and ran the race of the season. We as coaches could never be prouder of all of you. The Lady Golden Eagles were led by our senior Kelsie Hadlock who battled all the way to the finish line and finished 3rd overall. She was followed by her teammates; Haley Knapp (4th), Rachel Warnick (6th), Lindsay Schuring (8th), Shantel Johnson (10th), Chaliece Jones (11th) and Kelsie Bird (13th). The ladies made their move with the last 600meters of the race. To bring home the first ever region title for our cross country program.

We also had a fun, chilly, meet on Saturday at Park City. This was a 3 mile course on dirt with moderate rolling hills at 8000 ft in elevation. What a difference a week makes the boys race at the Nebo Invite was 85 degrees and the start of the race at Park City was 45 degrees. Despite the change in weather we ran great as a TEAM. The Girls TEAM took 3rd out of 15 schools and the Boys took 4th. The results are attached below. We also hope you all enjoyed the wonderful shakes and food at Granny's on the way home.
