Park City Invite Info

Golden Eagles --

This Saturday is one of the best races of the year. The Park City invite gives us a chance to have our whole TEAM run together in a race as there is a boys and a girls race and no jv and varsity race. Here is the info for the Park City Invite this Saturday. The buses will be leaving at 7:45am so be to the school by 7:30am.
Race Times:
Public, Parent and Coaches Race 9:15 am  
Girls Race 10:00 am 
Boys Race 10:45 am
Course: The course is a wide open grass start and then proceeding onto a very wide trail network. There is plenty of room to pass the entire way. The surface is 15% grass and 85% dirt. Moderate rolling hills are on most of the course.
Location : The course is at Quinn’s Junction athletic fields and the National Ability Center.


Reminders for you to bring a little extra cash for our TEAM's stop at Granny's in Heber  (Ohhh I can already taste that milkshake....) We will be back to Maple Mountain before 1:00pm on Saturday. The footlocker deposit is due tomorrow. Get that money to the finance office and the recite to Coach Wyatt. Also apples will be ready to pick up this Friday night after 7:00pm and Saturday after we get back from Park City. We meet at Ira Allen Park on Wednesday this week and have TEAM night this Thursday night. Info for that will be given at practice.

Nebo Invite Results

Golden Eagles -

On Friday our TEAM competed in the Nebo Invite at Salem Hills High School. This meet was a great ending to our Homecoming week. The girls varsity TEAM won the Nebo Invite out of 15 schools. Way to go ladies. Also the JV girls TEAM won the JV girls race great job ladies! To top off this great meet by the lady golden eagles Chaliece Jones and Ashley Phelps were both named to the homecoming royalty! Congrats ladies. The boys varsity TEAM was the 2nd placing 4a school to Pineview High School at this meet and placed 8th overall out of 19 schools. Great job guys. This was also our best JV race that our boys TEAM has had all season. We as coaches are very pleased with the way our TEAM is progressing. Let us keep our focus on our TEAM and individual goals this week in practice and for the rest of the season and "see it through".

Nebo Invitational Info

Golden Eagles --
This Friday we are having our last Friday meet as we compete in the Nebo Invitational at Salem Hills High School. The buses will be leaving at 2:35. The race info is as follows:
     JV Girls start time 4:00pm
     JV Boys start time 4:30pm
     Varsity Girls start time 5:00pm
     Varsity Boys start time 5:30pm
We will then hop on the buses as soon as the varsity cool down is over for the ride home in time for the Homecoming Football Game. Go Eagles!

Reminders that on Wednesdays we meet at Ira Allen Park in Mapleton (1740 S 800 W) and we have TEAM night Thursday night at Hanson's house. Also the student council has asked that we all sit together as a TEAM for the homecoming assembly. Should be lots of fun! Final reminder that all apple fundraiser money is due this Friday. Please get it in.

Bulldog Invite Information

Quick Reminder we are meeting at Ira Allen Park tomorrow for practice. TEAM night will again be Thursday night at the Phelps house. Thank you to all of our parents who help make these TEAM nights possible.  

The buses will depart MMHS at 2:35pm for the Bulldog invite this Friday at Kiwanis Park (820 North 1100 East Provo, Utah). The race times are as follows:

Murray Invite Results & "old man's b-day"

Golden Eagles --


Friday was such a fun race day! Our TEAM participated in the Murray Invite. This was the premier invite so far this year in Utah. There were over 2000 athletes from 47 teams in Utah and some from Colorado and Wyoming as well. The competition was great and the 3.0 mile course that was a little of everything (over the river, through the woods, up the hills, around the rugby field, through the woods again, and over the river again, up the hill again, and sprint on the soccer field) was what our TEAM needed. Our Girls TEAM finished 12th overall and our boys TEAM finished 8th overall. This meet provided some of the fastest times so far this season. Full meet results can be found here:

Most of us can see that your training and practice is starting to paying off. Yet with 3 meets till Region and 4 till state we need to stay focused on our personal and TEAM goals this week in practice. Keep reminding each other to "hold the rope!!!" This will help our TEAM as we rise above!

P.S. This "old man" wishes to say Thank You to all of you for the birthday wishes. Our sidewalk, driveway, street, back porch, and neighbors drive way has never seen so much chalk from so many people. I had no idea that there was so many "inside jokes/ phrases" from just this season. Thanks and to all of the midnight texters...payback will come to you but "Don't worry about it!"
