Outdoor Track & Field

Golden Eagles --

We will be holding a parent info meeting on Wednesday Feb 23rd at 6:00pm in the cafeteria at MMHS. This meeting will cover all the information needed for the outdoor season and will give out all the paperwork needed as well. All interested in participating need to attend this meeting. 


Outdoor track and field will start practices Monday - Friday starting on Monday Feb. 28th 3:00pm out at track. We hope to see you all there and bring a friend or two as well.

Simplot Games Results

Golden Eagles –
This past weekend brought the end of our Indoor season with the Simplot Games in Pocatello Idaho.  Our TEAM did really well at this national meet. Spencer Hanson placed 5th in the 3200 meters with a time of 9:31.34. Our Boys 4x800 relay placed 5th led by Lance Merrell, Kevin Muirbrook, Paxton Patey, and Jonah Hadlock with a school record time of 8:31.34 destroying our old time of 8:49. Our boys medley relay placed 9th overall  led by Isaac Faux, Eddie Prothero, Cameron Carson, and Kevin Muirbrook with a time of 3:47.34 improving to our #1 indoor time by 10 seconds. Our boys Medley “B” relay of Tucker Austin, Nate Vance, Jonah Hadlock, and Lance Merrell just missed finals running a great time of 3:55.86. Isaac Faux finished 14th overall in the 1600 with a time of 4:35.47. Lance Merrell also placed 14th overall in the High Jump with a jump of 5’ 11”. Our boys 4x4 relay of Cameron Carson, Tucker Austin, Kevin Muirbrook, and Eddie Prothero ran a time of 3:47.57.  Eddie Prothero ran a PR in the 60 hurdle race with a time of 9.29. Tucker Austin ran a 10.22 in the same race. Nathan Vance ran a PR in the 1600 with a time of 5:00.69. Nate was joined in the 1600 by Paxton Patey ran a 4:51.27 and Jonah Hadlock who ran a 4:55.29. Cameron Carson ran the 60 meter dash in a time of 7.50 seconds. Kevin Muirbrook participated 400 meters. And Zach Decker finished out our Boys TEAM by participating in the shot put and the weigh throw. This was a good meet for our boys TEAM. Thank you boys, thank you.  

On the girls side our 4x200 relay of Christine Heyn, Megan Elmont, Tiffany Gomm, and Jensen Williams set our school record in this event with a time of 1:55.65. Our 4x400 relay of Katie Bennett, Bobbe Graham, Rachel Warnick, and Brigette Harris ran a 4:45.00. Our Medley “A” relay of Christine, Megan, Jensen, and Rachel set our #1 indoor time of 4:44.29. Our Medley “B” relay of Tiffany, Katie, Bobbe, and Brigette ran a time of 5:05.50. Rachel Warnick ran her PR in the 1600 with a time of 5:57.75. Brigett Harris also joined in with a PR in the 1600 with a time of 6:04.91. Megan Elmont and Christine Heyn ran the 200 posting times of 29.10 & 29.35 respectively. Tiffany Gomm attacked the 60 meter hurdles running a time of 10.52. In the 400 meters Jensen Williams led the way for us running a 62 followed by Katie Bennett ran a 68 along with Bobbe Graham who ran a 69. This was a great opportunity for our ladies to get a chance to race against some of the best runners in the country, thank you ladies, thank you. 

We as coaches want to thank you all for coming to this meet and for being willing to help your TEAM in any way possible. Thank for the stories, the jokes, the patience with the LONG trip home, the ice cream, and the good times. Let us take this experience and use it in the outdoor season. Thank you to all of you and thank you to all of your parents for their support of our program. Also a final big thank you to Coaches Boyack, Kovatch, Barker, and Lake for all of your help with this indoor season, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.  We could not function as a program if it were not for these wonderful coaches who give so much of their time. Thank you again. 

With outdoor starting next week we need everyone to get their friends to come and participate in track & field. Get all of your friends to come out. Track & Field is a sport in which everyone can participate and have success. We have a parent information meeting this Wednesday Feb 23rd at 6:00pm in the MMHS cafeteria. We start outdoor track & field on Monday February 28th with our first track meet on Tuesday March 8th. We look forward to working with all of you toward our TEAM goals and your individual goals.
