Mt. Timp Invite Champions & Week 4 notes

Golden Eagles--
This past week gave us our first state qualifying meet at the Mount Timpanogos Invite. This was a good meet for our TEAM. Not only did our boys TEAM come out on top as champions, but our girls TEAM took 2nd place. We as coaches are so very pleased with the progress our TEAM is making and we feel that we are headed the right direction. Now we need to make sure that we do not settle in our practices or workouts, but we need to keep pushing & challenging ourselves and our goals will come.

Now we had several state qualifying marks set at the Mount Timpanogos Invite they are: Zach Decker in the Shot Put, Cat McQueen in the High Jump, Isaac Faux in the 1600m, Jensen Williams in the 400m, Megan Elmont in the 200m & the Long Jump, Our girls 4x100 relay TEAM of Christine Heyn, Megan Elmont, Tessa Weight, and Jensen Williams. There were also several other PR’s set at this meet that we will share at practice. Full results can be found at runnercard.com Great job to all of you, now some of you were not pleased with your performances and that is ok as long as you took lessons from them to help you become better the next time. Remember to keep learning from every meet, there are always lessons to learn.

Now just a few reminders for all of you, please remember that you need to make sure you are doing a proper cool down (“warm down”) after every practice and every race. This really helps with injury prevention and allows you to perform at your best. Please make sure you are stretching, drinking your fluids, getting the rest your body needs, eating the foods your body needs, and taking care of yourself. The little fundamental things really do help our TEAM as a whole and you as an athlete. The little things may take a little more time on your part, but they will help.

There are several extra player packs (T-shirts, Hoodies, & Sweatpants) that still can be purchased for $45 payable to the finance office. We will give these out on a first come first serve basis just show your recite to Coach Wyatt.

Other notes for this week for everyone to be aware of, with the end of the term (Thursday) make sure that you are meeting the requirements to be academically eligible & taking care of all NC’s. Simple solution here is to just GO TO CLASS!!! TEAM let’s make sure that you are all stretching and cooling down after your workouts as well as hydrating yourselves. Final challenge that we have for you is that at the meets you take the time to cheer on your fellow TEAM-mates as they compete. Thank you to all of you for a good first two weeks of the season. Keep up the hard work and it will pay off. Thanks for being a part of this TEAM.
Thanks & Happy Running, Jumping, & Throwing!!!
