Parents Meeting / Sports Physicals
We want to have a parents meeting this Thursday night before we go on our run. The meeting will be at 6:00pm at MMHS. The meeting should only take twenty min. Then we can go on our night run. We will be discussing fees and giving out all of the paperwork for the season. Please make sure your folks can make it. If they can't then you will need to pass on all the information to them. We will do our best to post it on the blog as well. We hope to see all of you this Thursday night.
Sports physicals are needed in order to compete in any high school sport. They are good for three years. If you have not had one in the past three years the school is offering on Monday Aug. 3rd starting at 7:00am there will be a doctor to conduct physicals for those who need them. The cost is $20.00 if you have any questions contact Coach Wyatt.

Mark the Great Memorial Run
This is something that we all can be a part of and make a real difference. We would encourage you all to run in this race. May God Bless Mark's family.
A 5K run has been planned to help a local family of eight who suddenly lost their father recently. The Mark the Great Benefit 5K and Kids Run will be held Aug. 1 to pay tribute to Mark Richardson and support his family.Mark was a resident of Salem who passed away suddenly June 30 at age 44 after a heart attack.
Runners and walkers can download a registration form from Mark’s Web site online, www.rememberingmarkthegreat.blogspot.com/2009/07/pictures.html or sign up at www.runnercard.com.
“Mark was someone who could make you feel accepted and have you laughing within seconds of meeting him” says Susan Chapman, Mark’s younger sister. “We are organizing this run to remember him in a fun loving way, and all the proceeds go to his family.”Mark has six children, four of whom still live at home.

Items of note
Just a quick reminder that the weight room will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday this week so we will not be able to lift those days. Also remember that this Friday you all are running in one of the 24th of July 5k's or 10k's in Mapleton or Spanish Fork. This run is your workout for that day. Whichever race you run in Good Luck and we will see you at the races.

Run and a Movie
What a week of practice. We are so pleased at how many of you are improving and progressing toward your goals. We love to see all the new faces that come. We also love to see all the old faces that are there every day. If you are still thinking about joining our TEAM it is never to late. We meet every day at 7:00am at the track at MMHS.
Well great job yesterday on those hills. What a run and what the wind. That was something that you will only get running at Maple Mountain. That was a practice that has future stories written all over it. Great job. We would also like to thank all of you who helped eat the breakfast after. We never have any left overs.
Thursday Night was a blast and we can't wait for our next one. A big THANK YOU to Ashley for getting the projector. Thank you to the captains for the idea, thank you to the Heckels for the work on the screen, and thank you for all the flying M&M's and Gummy Bears! That was a fun tradition to start. The high jump pits needed to be used anyway. The movie was a great thing to see after the 4.5 turned into 5.25 mile run in the 100 degree heat. This was our biggest crowd for a Thursday Night run so far. So thank you to all who were involved.
We will not have a night run this Thursday night the 23rd, because you all are racing in either the Mapleton City 5k or the Speedy Spaniard 10k on Friday morning the 24th. Good Luck to all of you. Enjoy the photos and again thanks for the new tradition.

This Thursday Nights Run
Great job today in your sound off. That sounded great when you were all doing it together. We hope that you feel a part of this amazing TEAM. We are laying the foundation for an amazing season, TEAM, and program. So we can never say it enough, Thank You! Thank You for all your hard work and your commitment to our TEAM and to yourself. We also want to give a big Thank You to all of your parents for their support.
Well TEAM this weeks Thursday Night run will be the Hobble Creek Trail. We know that the rough draft calender we gave back in May is all messed up, but that is OK we can still get the word out on the blog and at practice. Well this week for those of you who want to we are caravan and carpooling at MMHS at 5:30 or meet at the reservoir on the Hobble Creek Trail at 5:40. We are going to run that trail and then come back to the school for a TEAM activity. If you have questions about this activity then ask your captains and they will fill you in. Hope to see you all there. Also don't forget to do your homework!!!

Thursday Night Run
Just a quick reminder that we will be meeting at Maple Mtn. @ 5:45. We will carpool there and we have the two school vans to help transport people. Bring your own money if you want to eat at any of the restaurants at the end of the run at the River woods Shopping Center. We would love to see all of you there. We also invite anyone who wants to come on the run. (Parents, Siblings, Friends, etc.) If you are coming on the night run, then enjoy sleeping in tomorrow, because you don't have to do the 7:00am run.
For those of you who can't come tomorrow night there is a small group of runners who are meeting tomorrow at 7:00am at the track. Keep up all the hard work that you are doing. Thanks,
