State & other Info

Golden Eagles--

Wednesday & Thursday gave our TEAM a chance to show our region what we thought our TEAM could do. Well done to all of you. As coaches we are so proud of all of you for stepping up at the right time to help your TEAM out. It was a very selfless balanced TEAM effort. We as coaches are very proud of our finishes by both our boys & girls TEAM and know that we can build upon this for the future. Full meet results can be found at www.runnercard.com. Congrats to Travis Farley for setting the school record in the 100 & 200 Meters. Congrats to Quinn Hooper, Maddie Ball, Elli Eastmond, Cam Bates, Gentry Paice, Travis Farley & our girls 4x400 relay on being region champions! There were so many top marks to mention here. It was a great meet for our team.

Now for those of us who are off to state let us stay focused and see this one all the way to the end. See this journey through. Yes that means you will need to go one more week giving up things that “the normal teenager” doesn’t give up, but you will gain something that “the normal teenager” will never get. See it through to the end & get your reward!

Now upcoming events to be aware of:

Tuesday May 12th: JV Region at Salem Hills High School. Start time for this meet is 3:30pm, The bus will leave MMHS at 2:30pm. Kids will be excused at 2:05pm.  This meet is for any athlete who did not qualify for state. This gives you one more chance to go for that PR and one more time to wear that Maple Mountain uniform.

Thursday May 14th:  This day our state qualifiers will be having dinner at Brick Oven at 5:30pm, this is again only for our state qualifiers.

Friday May 15th & Saturday May 16th is the State Championships at BYU. The order of events can be found here: http://www.uhsaa.org/btrack/2015/Info.pdf We are as well helping run this meet. This is part of our fundraiser just like we did last week with the BYU invitational. This is a great way to help your team by helping BYU put on the state championship meet. We need every member of the TEAM to help out on these two days. Make every effort to be to this fundraiser and to help cheer on our TEAM. The bus for this meet will leave at 7:00am sharp! More details will be given in practice. We also would like to have every member of the TEAM there to cheer on our TEAM as we go for our goals.

Thursday May 28th will be our Track & Field Honor Banquet at MMHS. More info will be given as we get closer to this date. Please plan on attending this banquet so we can honor all of you for your work this season. Thanks.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Running, Jumping, and Throwing!

Region Championship Notes

Golden Eagles,
Great job this weekend at the BYU Invite! We are very proud of our girls TEAM for their 2nd place finish in the 3A-5A division. There were several top performances at this meet. Some of these include school records set by Britney Lund in the 3200 & 1600 closely followed by her teammate Maddie Ball in the 3200 & an incredible 800 run. Elli Eastmond set the school record in the 800 meters. The record breaking wasn't done as Maddie Watson joined in with a school record in the Discus. Finally Travis Farley tied the 100 meters school record. This was a great meet for us with not only these top performances but several others. Almost everyone set a season best mark or a PR at this meet. Great job to everyone, full meet results can be found at www.runnercard.com

We also want to give a big THANK YOU to all on our TEAM who helped with our fundraiser at this meet. Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! You all did an amazing job and we can never thank you enough for your help.

Now as we go into the championship time of the season remember to keep working hard, be smart, be supportive of each other, trust each other, and keep lifting each other and great things can happen. There are going to be a few more times when you will have to give up the things that a “normal teenager” wouldn't give up…but you are going to gain things that a “normal teenager” will never be able to gain!!! When we work together and trust & support each other great things can happen. So let’s see this through all the way past the finish line.

This Wednesday & Thursday is the Region Championships held at Provo High School. The start time for this meet is 3:30pm on both days. The buses will leave MMHS at 2:30pm on both days. Kids will be dismissed at 2:10pm from classes on Thursday (Junior high students at 2:05). Below is the order of events.
Again Thank you Golden Eagles!
Happy Running, Jumping, & Throwing!!!

BYU Invite Notes & other notes for 4/27-5/2

Golden Eagles –

Thank you for all of your hard work and your dedication with the long day at the Tiger Trials Invite. Full Meet results can be found at www.runnercard.com We had a lot of good things happen at this meet and a lot of lessons learned by all of us at this meet. Taking the lessons from each meet will only make us stronger as a TEAM and as individual athletes. There are always things to learn & always ways to improve & ways to become our best, as a TEAM and as individuals. Let us keep working, learning, improving, and staying focused all the way to the end of this season and success will come. Golden Eagles see this through to the end.

Some upcoming dates and info for this week and the rest of the season: We have two meets this week.

Tuesday we have a JV meet at Timpanogos HS. It is the Timpanogos Relays meet and it is for all members of our TEAM that have not qualified for state. The bus will leave at 2:25pm Students will be excused at 2:05pm. The order of events is below.

Friday & Saturday is the BYU Invite, this is a full day meet both days and it is a qualifying meet.
Meet schedule can be found at http://www.byutrack.com/various/Special/Meet_Info/2014-15/BYUInv/BYUInv-15.htm
This meet is also part of our fundraiser for our TEAM. If you are not participating in this meet you will be helping run this meet. We need all the members of our TEAM to help. The more we have the better it is for our TEAM. All of the funds from this meet go directly back to you our student athletes. Full details for departure for this meet will be given at practice this week. We will be working on a sign up list this week during practice so that we have both days of this meet covered. It is a great way to support your TEAM and also get to watch some great track and field action.

Wednesday & Thursday May 6th & 7th is the Region Championships at Provo High School.

Tuesday May 12th JV Region at Salem Hills High School

Friday & Saturday May 15th & 16th is the State Championships at BYU.

Also as a part of our service to our community on Monday May 4th we are hosting a Special Olympics track meet at MMHS. We will discuss this meet at practice. This is a wonderful way for us to give back to our community. This meet really is a chance where we always seem to get more from it than the service we give. Also Tuesday & Wednesday April 28 & 29 & May 5 & 6 are other times to provide service for the Maple Mountain community as we host Hersey Track meets for our elementary schools. This is a great way to give back. Coach Wyatt will be asking a few of you to help out at these meets.

Thank you in advance for your help with the upcoming week. Thank you. Let us keep working and stay focused all the way through to the end success will come.

Happy Running, Jumping, and Throwing,
