MMHS Track & Field Notes for week 2

Golden Eagles –

This past week gave us the chance to have our TEAM get those first meet jitters out of the way. Sure enough no matter how jittery you were you all stepped up to the line and gave it your best shot. That is one of the things that really stood out to us as coaches. You all gave it your best. It was great to see ALL of you compete in multiple events. We were very pleased with the marks that we posted at this first meet. We as a TEAM are heading in the right direction. Now let us keep in mind that there are always things to improve on. Let us keep working on those things. You all now have a mark that you can use for the future. For those who have taken on the challenge of Track & Field for the first time this season, you take the time, distance, or height from this meet and trying to improve on that becomes your goal. You work toward that PR (Personal Record) always trying to improve yourself every day. As we all do this it will lift our TEAM. Thank you all for your performances at this meet & for your hard work in practice. Keep it up and great things will follow.

Other notes for this week for everyone to be aware of, with the end of the term make sure that you are meeting the requirements to be academically eligible. We are hoping to have our spirit packs ready to hand out to everyone who ordered them before the end of this month.  TEAM let’s make sure that you are all stretching after your workouts as well as hydrating yourselves. Final challenge that we have for you is that at the meets you take the time to cheer on your fellow TEAM mates as they compete. Thank you to all of you for a wonderful first two weeks of the season. Keep up the hard work and it will pay off.

Final note for everyone our Track & Field Family suffered a tragic loss this week with the passing of Coach Harris’s father. Our thoughts and prayers are with Coach Harris and her family at this time. May you find Peace and be lifted up by the memories of your father. We all love you Coach!

We all need to take the time to hug those who we love and tell them how much we love them and thank them for all they mean to us.

Thanks and Happy running, throwing, and jumping!
