First Meet Results & Cougar Relays Info

Golden Eagles –
It was great to have a meet this week and to get that first meet out of the way. There were lots of good performances at this meet. Several of you now have benchmarks that you can work from. Keep working hard and keep working toward our goals. Remember that it is as we work hard and work together that we will be able to accomplish our goals. As we talked about in practice it requires a full TEAM effort in order for us to accomplish our TEAM Goals. We as coaches know that you all can and will do great things. Full meet results can be found at this link region meet results. Good job at this meet TEAM.

Now this week, in addition to practice everyday we have two things as a TEAM. On Tuesday March 18th is our first TEAM fundraiser.

Maple Mountain High School Track & Field is excited to present  Shaun Dee The Hypno Hick “The Fastest Hypnotist In The West” on Tuesday March 18th 7:00pm at the Maple Mountain High School Auditorium the cost is $5 per person. We are asking you that bring 2 other people besides yourself to this fundraiser. It is a very entertaining show and an easy way to help your TEAM! This is guaranteed to bring smiles and laughter to all who attend. Please spread the word & bring as many people as you can!

The Second thing is our track meet the Cougar Relays. This week’s track meet is a “Relay Challenge Meet” This meet is a fun meet and a great chance for us to compete in some fun events that are not normally held (i.e. the throwers relay, sprint medley, shuttle hurdle relay). For many of our athletes who competed the last three years in this meet they have commented on how it was one of the highlights of the year and one of the funnest track meets of the year. We have been the TEAM champions in this meet every year it has existed and hope to repeat again this year. This is one of the only meets in which you will be competing by somewhat of a grade level (Freshman/Sophomores & than Juniors/Seniors) It is also one of the only meets in which they add the scores from both the boys and the girls TEAMs.

The Cougar Relays are on Friday March 21st and Saturday March 22nd at Kearns High School. (5525 Cougar Lane, Kearns Utah. By the Olympic Ice Oval) This meet is set up in a Frosh/Soph & Varsity style. On Friday will be all of the Varsity field events and all of the Frosh/Soph running events. On Saturday will be all of the Varsity running events and the Frosh/Soph field events. In this meet, athletes will compete in events chosen by the coaches. We will do our best to try to get every athlete into an event; however this is not always possible. Thanks for your understanding on this. IF you know you, for some reason, will not be attending this meet please let Coach Wyatt know by end of practice Monday. Thanks. The buses will be leaving Maple Mtn. on Friday at 1:30pm and on Saturday at 7:30am. Start time on Friday is 3:30pm & 9:00am on Saturday. This will be a very fun meet & don’t miss out on this meet!!!

Other Notes:
Other notes for this week for everyone to be aware of, with the end of the term (Thursday) make sure that you are meeting the requirements to be academically eligible & taking care of all NC’s. Simple solution here is to just GO TO CLASS!!! TEAM let’s make sure that you are all stretching and cooling down after your workouts as well as hydrating yourselves. Final challenge that we have for you is that at the meets you take the time to cheer on your fellow TEAM-mates as they compete. Thank you to all of you for a good first three weeks of the season. Keep up the hard work and it will pay off. Thanks for being a part of this TEAM.

Thanks & Happy Running, Jumping, & Throwing!!!
