We hope you have enjoyed the Labor Day holiday and got some running in today. We as coaches were pleased with how our TEAM did at the BYU Autumn Classic. We finished in the Top 5 in five of the six races. Our varsity Girls TEAM finished 4th overall 2nd in 4A led by Ashley Phelps who finished in the top 12. Way to go ladies! The Boys varsity TEAM finished 5th overall and 3rd in 4A led by Spencer Hanson who finished 4th overall and Isaac Faux who finished 12th overall and ran the fastest time of the day for all freshman athletes. Way to go guys! Our JV girls finished 4th led by Shantel Johnson. Our Frosh Boys finished 5th led by Ethan Lowe and Shay Lafever. Big time props to our Frosh Girls TEAM who won the girls frosh race led by Rachel Warnick and Bridget Harris finishing 1st and 2nd. Great job ladies! We had 17 athletes finish in the top 30 in the 6 races! It was a fun day and good races. Great job everyone. Full race results can be found here:
Now most of us can look at our races and see things that we need to improve on. Let us focus on these things this week in practice and work on rising above. "Welcome the task that pushes you beyond yourself."
This week we have a schedule change ***We will be racing on Friday September 10th at the Murray Cross Country Invitational instead of the Wasatch Invitational at Soldier Hollow.*** Please make note of the change. This meet will be a better fit for our TEAM and will give our TEAM a chance to go against some schools that don't normally get to see each week. We look forward to this new meet and welcome this new task. The buses will be leaving from Maple Mountain High School at 1:15pm and students will get out of class at 1:00pm. We will be returning back to Maple Mountain around 7:00pm. Again we will be racing the Murray Invite on Friday September 10th this week NOT Soldier Hollow. TEAM night and TEAM dinner will again be on Thursday night at 6:00pm. Thanks again to all of our wonderful parents for putting all of these great TEAM nights together.
Also a reminder that all the money for the peaches fundraiser is due this Friday.
